The short version: We collect only what we need to run the service. We don't sell your data. Your floor plans belong to you. Free-tier users see Google ads (with your consent); Pro users see no ads at all. You can delete your account and all your data at any time.
Napkin Plan ("we," "us," or "our") is a floor planning tool operated by Napkin Plan. You can reach us at hello@napkinplan.app.
We collect the minimum information required to provide the service:
We do not use your floor plan data or personal information to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Who sees ads: Advertisements are shown only to free-tier users who have given explicit consent via the cookie consent banner. Pro subscribers never see ads and no advertising code is loaded for their sessions.
How it works: We use Google AdSense, a service operated by Google LLC, to display advertisements. When you accept advertising cookies, Google AdSense may:
Consent and control: We only load Google AdSense after you explicitly click "Accept & Continue" on the cookie consent banner. If you click "Decline," no advertising cookies are set and no ad-related data is collected. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
Opting out of personalized ads: Even after accepting, you can manage how Google uses your data for advertising:
EU / EEA users: Before loading any advertising code, we display a cookie consent banner. We do not serve personalized ads to users who decline. This banner is shown on every new browser session until a choice is made.
Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the United States, including DynamoDB for structured data and S3 for floor plan images. We use HTTPS for all data in transit and employ industry-standard security practices.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We take reasonable measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Napkin Plan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or via a notice within the app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
