The short version: We collect only what we need to run the service. We don't sell your data. Your floor plans belong to you. Free-tier users see Google ads (with your consent); Pro users see no ads at all. You can delete your account and all your data at any time.
Napkin Plan ("we," "us," or "our") is a floor planning tool operated by Napkin Plan LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. Napkin Plan LLC is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

We collect the minimum information required to provide the service:
We do not send marketing or newsletter email. There is currently no mailing list to join. If we ever introduce one it will be strictly opt-in, and every message will carry an unsubscribe link.
We do not use your floor plan data or personal information to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Who sees ads: Advertisements are shown only to free-tier users, and only with consent. Pro subscribers never see ads — on the web no advertising code is loaded for their sessions, and in the apps no ad is requested.
We use two different Google advertising services depending on where you are using Napkin Plan. They collect different things and are controlled in different places, so they are described separately below.
How it works: We use Google AdSense, a service operated by Google LLC, to display advertisements on napkinplan.app. When you accept advertising cookies, Google AdSense may:
Consent and control: We only load Google AdSense after you explicitly click "Accept & Continue" on the cookie consent banner. If you click "Decline," no advertising cookies are set and no ad-related data is collected. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
How it works: The apps use Google AdMob, also operated by Google LLC. The apps do not use cookies. Instead, when you consent, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
We do not send Google your floor plans, your floor plan images, your email address, or anything you have drawn or measured. Ads are requested with a link to our public floor planning guides so that the ads shown are more likely to be relevant — that page is public, and no personal data is attached to it.
Consent and control (apps): Two separate permissions apply, and both are yours to change at any time:
Declining either one does not reduce any Napkin Plan feature. Nothing in the app is gated behind accepting advertising or tracking.
Beyond the controls above, you can manage how Google uses your data for advertising generally:
EU / EEA / UK users: We do not serve personalized ads to anyone who declines. On the web, a cookie consent banner is shown on every new browser session until a choice is made. In the apps, Google's consent form is shown before the first ad request, and your choice is remembered until you change it under Account → Privacy options.
Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the United States, including DynamoDB for structured data and S3 for floor plan images. We use HTTPS for all data in transit and employ industry-standard security practices.
No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We take reasonable measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your consent choice is stored in your browser's local storage. You can reset it at any time by clearing your browser data for this site, which will cause the consent banner to reappear on your next visit.
The iPhone and iPad apps do not use cookies at all. Advertising consent there is handled by Google's in-app consent form and by Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and is changed from Account → Privacy options in the app or from iOS Settings — not by clearing browser data. See Section 4b.

Napkin Plan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.
When an account is deleted we keep one anonymised record for up to 90 days: a one-way cryptographic hash of the email address, the date, and the number of floor plans the account had uploaded. We cannot recover the email address from this hash. It exists only so we can measure how often accounts are deleted and recreated, it is never used to restrict what you can do, and it is automatically erased after 90 days.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or via a notice within the app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
